Man arrested in SWAT team raid on Hawaiian Gardens house
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded Wednesday with SWAT teams and a helicopter to a report of an armed man barricaded in a house in Hawaiian Gardens.
Shortly before 1 p.m., residents told The Times, patrol cars arrived in the area around 222nd Street and Norwalk Boulevard.
A short time later, a helicopter carrying deputies in riot gear landed on the grounds of Hawaiian Elementary School in the 12000 block of East 226th Street. Sheriff’s officials said a man was taken into custody.
