Detroit 7, at Chicago 6 (10 innings): Miguel Cabrera broke out of a slump with a solo homer in the 10th inning to lift the Tigers. Cabrera, who had been hitless in his last 12 at-bats, led off the 10th with a shot to left-center off White Sox reliever Scott Linebrink (2-4). It was Cabrera’s 11th homer of the season.

Minnesota 10, at Oakland 5: Jason Kubel and Justin Morneau each hit a home run and the Twins ended a three-game losing streak. Former first overall draft pick Delmon Young drove in three runs for the Twins, who scored more runs than in their previous four games combined.

Toronto 9, at Texas 0: Brian Tallet and two relievers combined for a two-hitter and Adam Lind homered. Lind is hitting .444 in his last 11 games.

at Cleveland 8, Kansas City 4: Mark DeRosa’s grand slam off reliever Jamey Wright in the seventh inning helped lift the Indians out of last place in the Central Division.

at Baltimore 3, Seattle 1: Rookie Brad Bergesen pitched eight innings of five-hit ball, Nolan Reimold homered and had two RBIs and the Orioles ended a five-game losing streak.

Angels 4, at Tampa Bay 3: Jered Weaver won his third start in a row.
