Ibanez lifts Phillies past division rivals
Raul Ibanez hit a three-run homer with two outs in the 10th inning and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the New York Mets, 6-3, on Thursday night, handing their National League East rivals another difficult loss.
Shane Victorino got the winning rally started with a one-out single off Bobby Parnell (2-2). After Chase Utley walked, Ken Takahashi came in and struck out Ryan Howard. But Ibanez followed with a drive over the wall in right-center for his 21st homer.
Also Thursday, Phillies infielder Pablo Ozuna was suspended for 50 games under baseball’s minor league drug program. MLB said he had an elevated ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone, a violation of its drug rules.
