Pittsburgh 3, at Atlanta 1: Andy LaRoche hit a 3-2 pitch up the middle for a tiebreaking, two-out, two-run single in the ninth inning for the Pirates.
Colorado 5, at Milwaukee 4: Aaron Cook pitched shutout ball into the seventh inning, and the Rockies won their eighth straight game.
at Houston 2, Chicago 1 (13 innings): Astro Geoff Blum drove in the winning run for the second straight game.
at Arizona 2, San Francisco 1: Max Scherzer allowed three hits over 7 2/3 dominant innings, and Justin Upton drove in two runs with a homer and RBI single for the Diamondbacks.
at Washington 3, Cincinnati 2: The Nationals’ Cristian Guzman scored the go-ahead run on a throwing error by Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips in the eighth inning.
