CALIFORNIA BRIEFING / LOS ANGELES
North Hollywood High School continued its regional dominance of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Science Bowl on Saturday, defeating 32 other local schools in a game-show-style competition involving questions ranging from physics and chemistry to biology and computers.
The winning team will compete in the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., from April 30 to May 5. The school has won the Los Angeles regionals 11 of the last 12 years, said Department of Water and Power spokesman Walter Zeisl, and this year it was the school’s B team that prevailed.
