The Coast Guard searched waters off the coast of San Diego on Friday for survivors of a possible plane crash.
Boat passengers reported seeing a plane go down about 25 miles east of San Clemente Island about 2 p.m. Friday. Roughly three hours later, Coast Guard searchers discovered an oil slick and debris.
Coast Guard boats and a helicopter were searching the area but there were no reports of a missing or overdue plane, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. No survivors or bodies had been found.
