Antiwar protesters marched Saturday to mark the sixth anniversary of the war in Iraq.

Demonstrators assembled at Hollywood Boulevard near Vine Street to march west, stopping in front of the Kodak Theatre to participate in a 10-minute “die-in.”

Ian Thompson, a co-coordinator of the rally organized by ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War & End Racism) LA, said marchers were calling for an immediate withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.

“Our message is the war should end immediately and the money being spent funding wars . . . should be spent on job-training programs, education, better healthcare, and things people need to survive, especially in this economic crisis,” Thompson said.
