X-ray visions into world of lost bags

Share

No traveler wants an airline to lose his or her luggage. But Is This Your Luggage (www.isthisyourluggage.com) is an especially good reason you don’t want that: Anyone can see the bag’s contents.

What’s hot: The idea behind it is weird. This unidentified voyeur says he or she goes to airline auctions, buys luggage and removes and photographs the contents for his/her own pleasure. Then the picture of someone’s wayward belongings is posted to the website. The site displays five bags. Click on one and see bras and bikinis, travel adapters and T-shirts. Click on an individual item, such as a pair of bikini panties, and you’ll get a close-up shot of the whole lot. The “About” page explains that the airline tried to find the bags’ owners but failed. The site even offers contact information and urges viewers to ask their friends who’ve lost luggage to have a look so the owners of the bags can be found.

What’s not: The close-up of the clothes doesn’t get close enough to see any real detail. And if you were hoping for some kind of sex toys or unusual items, there’s not a one. I didn’t even see a book in one of the bags, something that could reveal a little bit more about its owner. I wonder why none of the suitcases contains any toiletries, jewelry or other stuff we can’t fit in our carry-ons. And why do all the clothes look so fashionable? I’m not totally buying into this site. Let us know if you get reunited with one of your bags.
