Chicago holds off Cleveland, 86-85

Luol Deng scored 15 points and helped stop LeBron James on a drive in the final seconds as the Bulls ended the Cavaliers’ three-game winning streak Thursday night with an 86-85 victory in Cleveland. Derrick Rose had 14 points and 11 assists and John Salmons scored 14 points for the Bulls, who handed the Cavaliers their second loss at home. Cleveland, which lost to Boston in its opener, lost only two regular-season games and was 45-3 at Quicken Loans Arena last season.

at Utah 113, San Antonio 99: Carlos Boozer had 27 points and 14 rebounds for the Jazz. Deron Williams also scored 27 in Utah’s first win over San Antonio since April 2008. The Spurs’ Tim Duncan had 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Tony Parker had 21 points but scored only four in the second half.
