Long Beach State beats Wisconsin Green Bay, 81-69

Long Beach State 81, at Wisconsin Green Bay 69: Stephan Gilling scored 22 points to lead the 49ers (3-1), who shot 63% from the field in the second half, making 15 of 24 shots, and were at 54% for the game. Larry Anderson scored 17 points and Eugene Phelps 15 for Long Beach State. Gilling was six for 14 from three-point range and Anderson nine for 10 from the free-throw line. The Phoenix (4-2) had five players in double figures. Randy Berry and Troy Cotton had 16 points each.

at Portland State 92, Cal Poly SLO 83: Dominic Waters scored 32 points to lead the Vikings (1-3), who gave Coach Tyler Geving the first victory of his career. Lorenzo Keeler led the Mustangs (0-3) with 20 points. Will Donahue scored 14 points and Charles Anderson had 13 off the bench. Portland State led by as many as 13 points in the first half before Cal Poly rallied in the second half to take a 71-70 lead with 7:01 left to play. The Vikings regained the lead on a Waters jumper with 6:28 remaining and held off the Mustangs down the stretch.
