Rob Fischer The Brooklyn-based artist brings his large-scale artworks made from scavenged and salvaged material to the Hammer. The museum lobby has been transformed into a labyrinthine mural made from recycled wood from a derelict high school gymnasium. L.A. Philharmonic Before Gustavo Dudamel’s trademark curly coif was plastered on every spare inch of Los Angeles advertising space, the L.A. Philharmonic had a perfectly inventive and beloved musical director in Esa-Pekka Salonen. At this performance, Dudamel leads the Phil in interpreting his predecessor’s work “LA Variations” along with John Adams’ “City Noir” and Marino Formenti’s take on Lou Harrison’s piano concerto.
