There is plenty more to dig into

At the corner of Wilshire and La Cienega boulevards, a green sign points north to “Restaurant Row,” a stretch of grand eateries such as Lawry’s the Prime Rib that have made La Cienega a culinary magnet since the late 1930s. Within the last year, the boulevard has seen the arrival of scene-stealing celebrity chef establishments, but with new bars, music venues, and design and fashion boutiques, the district has become a destination for much more than just a great meal.

Restaurant Row 2.0

The splashy SLS Hotel is home to Spanish chef Jose Andres’ the Bazaar, a collection of eating spaces featuring traditional and contemporary tapas, inventive cocktails and decadent pastries. Sushi chef Nobu Matsuhisa opened an outpost of his dining empire, Nobu Los Angeles (903 N. La Cienega Blvd., [310] 657-5711, www.noburestaurants.com), in the old L’Orangerie space last year, serving up dishes like the signature yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno. Other notable arrivals include sexy steakhouse STK (755 N. La Cienega Blvd., [310] 659-3535, www.stkhouse.com) and Asian tapas purveyor Ronin Izakaya Bistro (359 N. La Cienega Blvd., [310] 289-8404, www.roninizakaya.com).

Watering holes

Handcrafted cocktails like the Tijuana Brass (tequila, lime juice and agave syrup with cucumber foam) are the draw at newcomer the Roger Room (370 N. La Cienega Blvd., [310] 854-1300), a hip hideaway with a neighborhood vibe. Brightly patterned couches and ceiling-mounted swings set the sultry scene for an A-list crowd at STK-adjacent lounge Coco de Ville (755 N. La Cienega Blvd., [310] 659-3900, www.onelittlewest12.com/cocola).

Music and laughs

Concert venue Largo at the Coronet (366 N. La Cienega Blvd., [310] 855-0350, www.largo-la.com) moved last year from its Fairfax Avenue location into an intimate, 280-seat historic theater and features musicians and comedians such as Aimee Mann and Steve Martin. For even more intimacy, grab a drink or catch a set in Largo’s 60-seat bar, the Little Room.

Furniture and fashion

The La Cienega Design Quarter ( www.lcdqla.com), from Melrose Avenue to Santa Monica Boulevard, is home to top-flight interior design boutiques like summer arrival Morateur (735 N.
