Los Angeles County officials have advised people to stay out of the water at area beaches for at least the next several days because of high bacteria levels caused by the runoff from this week’s storm. But that didn’t stop surfers at Venice Beach from paddling into polluted waters Thursday morning to catch some waves.
“I love surfing,” Venice resident Ryan Kelly said. “Sometimes you gotta get sick to go surf.”
