Living in Southern California, we don’t have much to indicate that fall is here. The palm trees don’t change into fall colors. Our swimming pools don’t freeze over. Birds don’t start disappearing for warmer parts.

Thank goodness the last few years we have discovered a sure-fire sign that fall is here: Pete Carroll is complaining about the BCS.
