at No. 15 Georgia Tech 37, Jacksonville State 17: Jonathan Dwyer ran for two touchdowns, and the Yellowjackets had 335 yards rushing. Dwyer, the 2008 ACC player of the year, scored on the first play from scrimmage on a 74-yard option pitch.

at No. 21 North Carolina 40, Citadel 6: T.J. Yates threw two touchdown passes in the decisive first half, and the Tar Heels had a 261-30 edge in rushing yardage.

William & Mary 26, at Virginia 14: B.W. Webb had three interceptions as the Tribe forced seven turnovers against the Cavaliers’ new spread offense.

at Boston College 54, Northeastern 0: Montel Harris scored on a 48-yard run on Boston College’s first play from scrimmage, and the Eagles outgained the Huskies, 441-131. Harris ran for 104 yards and scored three touchdowns in the first half.

Baylor 24, at Wake Forest 21: Robert Griffin completed his first eight passes, finishing with 136 yards passing and a touchdown for the Bears.

at Clemson 37, Middle Tennessee State 14: C.J. Spiller, who opened the game with a 96-yard kickoff return touchdown for the Tigers, did not play the second half because of a leg injury.

Richmond 24, at Duke 16: Tyler Kirchoff rushed for a touchdown and blocked a punt for another score for the Spiders.
