Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn Restaurant, 48865 Highway 1, Big Sur; (831) 667-2377, https://www.deetjens.com. This rustic restaurant in a 1930s inn is a breakfast hot spot. About $15 per person for breakfast; dinner entrees $24-$34.

Sierra Mar Restaurant, 47900 Highway 1, Big Sur; (831) 667-2800; https://www.postranchinn.com. Suspended on a cliff over the ocean with floor-to-ceiling windows, this place has a view and a meal not to be missed. The four-course prix fixe menu is $105 and changes nightly.
