These teams couldn’t be off to more divergent starts: Chivas is winless and hasn’t scored a goal this season, while the Red Bulls are unbeaten and haven’t allowed a score. But there’s reason for hope for the home team because Chivas has never started a season with three consecutive losses and New York has never beaten them at the Home Depot Center. Plus, the Red Bulls’ win at Seattle last week was their first on the road in 28 tries. New York Coach Hans Backe underwent gallbladder surgery Monday, but he is expected to be on the sidelines Saturday to supervise his defense-first game plan.
