The Galaxy plays on the road for the first time this season. Last year, the teams met in the Western Conference final after tying for the conference lead during the regular season. But the Galaxy is catching the Dynamo at a good time since Houston, already missing Brian Ching (hamstring strain), saw Cam Weaver’s strained knee worsen in training this week, leaving the front line largely to Luis Landin and Dominic Oduro. That’s not a good sign for Houston considering that Galaxy goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts hasn’t given up a goal this season — nor did the Dynamo score against the Galaxy last season in three games (two in the regular season and one in the playoffs). Edson Buddle has scored all three Galaxy goals this season, each with an assist from Landon Donovan.
