EVENTS

The Art of Surfboard Shaping For the dedicated, surfing is more than a sport — it’s a spiritual pursuit, and that means surfboard shapers like Scott Anderson are akin to shamans. Anderson, who has crafted custom boards at his Venice shop for more than 20 years, will discuss the art and science of board shaping in conjunction with the exhibition “Outside the Box,” on display at the Hammer through Sunday. Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Blvd., L.A. 7 p.m. Free. (310) 443-7000.

Round Door Rolls Royce The Rolls Royce has been the preferred sled for industrial titans and rap legends alike for decades. But, ah, do any of them have one with — a round door? Petersen Museum curator Leslie Kendall will discuss the near-mythical 1925 Round Door Rolls Royce and the Petersen’s restoration process of such a unique vehicle.
