Update: The teams are at the bottom of their respective conferences and are likely to be out of the MLS playoffs. DC United, under the helm of interim coach and former U.S. international midfielder Ben Olsen, scored a 3-2 victory in Washington on May 29 in the teams’ only other meeting this season. Chivas is coming off a 1-0 loss at Dallas last weekend and will play a U.S. Open Cup semifinal game against the Sounders in Seattle on Wednesday night. In a rare bit of positive news in what has been a bleak season for Chivas, “home-grown” midfielders Cesar Zamora of Sylmar and Bryan de la Fuente of Bell have been selected by Coach Thomas Rongen to the U.S. under-20 national team that will compete in a four-team international tournament in Peru. The U.S. will leave Wednesday and play Paraguay on Sept. 6, Colombia on Sept. 8 and Peru on Sept. 10.
