Taking care of Kings has been the easy part for Clippers

This is what we know for sure after 32 games of the NBA season …

Yes, the Clippers really have figured out how to beat the Kings. Then again, so has most of the NBA, with few exceptions.

Three of the Clippers’ 10 victories this season have come against Sacramento.

“We’ve had enough bad luck during the year, hopefully it evens out,” said Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro, whose team had lost 11 straight on the road before winning the last three. “We were fortunate in a way we played well enough to win [Monday at Sacramento] even though we had too many turnovers [22].

Considerably stiffer challenges are ahead. First off is another longtime nemesis, the Utah Jazz, on Wednesday night at Staples Center. The Clippers have lost to the Jazz twice this season, including a double-overtime defeat at Utah in November in which they blew an 18-point lead.

Interestingly enough, before Blake Griffin, the last player with 19 straight double-doubles was the Jazz’s Paul Millsap, who did it in the 2008-09 season.

Griffin had 24 points and 14 rebounds against the Kings on Monday, and Sacramento Coach Paul Westphal said afterward: “He’s a handful. Are you going to say he went nine for 15 and had 14 rebounds, and we controlled him? I don’t think you can say that.”

Not just anyone can stroll into an NBA locker room immediately after a game. There are rules and passes, of course, and even the media isn’t allowed in right away. Usually the media enters after the coach’s news conference.

Apparently, there was an excited visitor just after the Clippers’ one-point victory over the Kings. One Clippers player said that someone who clearly wasn’t supposed to be in their locker room was going around high-fiving the players and offering congratulations.

The player said the individual was told to get out. Some of the other Clippers weren’t even aware of the incident. But the veteran player was one part angered and one part amused, saying he had never seen anything like that in his career.
