Santa Anita card is canceled
The racing card at Santa Anita was canceled Saturday because of heavy rain, the fifth time during the current meeting that weather and track conditions forced a cancellation. The Sham Stakes for 3-year-olds has been rescheduled for March 6.
“This is terribly disappointing to everyone involved,” track President Ron Charles said. “Our main problem continues to be with the way the main track is draining.”
The track is expected to race Sunday with a full card.
