“The Hobbit”: A Quick Takes item in Wednesday’s Calendar section about Guillermo del Toro walking away from “The Hobbit” referred to the filmmaker as a Spanish auteur. He is Mexican.

Express airport security: An article in Monday’s Business section about a new security screening service for airline passengers said the company, Clear, planned to serve Los Angeles International Airport and expected to start service this summer. A Clear spokeswoman says the company hopes to offer the service at LAX but has no definitive plans to, and it expects to enroll new customers this summer, with service in selected major airports expected in the fall.

Advertising: An article in Wednesday’s Business section about small business and the cost of advertising said the average cost to air a 30-second commercial on network TV was $921. It should have said that $921 was the average cost to air a 30-second ad on a network-affiliated TV station in a major media market.

Dodgers game: The Dodgers-Diamondbacks article in Wednesday’s Sports section said that John Ely had never pitched above Class A until this year. Ely had pitched in double-A ball.

Dodgers box score: A short game summary that accompanied the Dodgers box score in Tuesday’s Sports section said that Dodgers catcher Russell Martin was at bat when a balk occurred. The batter was Blake DeWitt.

French Open: In some editions of Wednesday’s Sports section, an article on Roger Federer’s loss at the French Open included a quote from him and said that he spoke by phone from Paris. Federer spoke to reporters after the match.

Portland restaurant: An article in Sunday’s Travel section on microbreweries in Portland, Ore., misspelled the name of the Indian restaurant Vindalho as Vindahlo.
