MUSIC

Baked Potato Anniversary Where else in L.A. but this vibrant little club just off the 101 could you see musical side projects by Tool’s Danny Carey and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith alongside performances by jazz and fusion heavyweights Steve Lukather, Lee Ritenour and Larry Carlton? Nowhere, and that’s what makes the Baked Potato’s 40th Anniversary a date worth celebrating. Featuring two days of music by all of the above and more, the sounds of jazz, rock and beyond will be explored with a reliably virtuosic flair. The John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, 2580 E. Cahuenga Blvd., L.A., 2-11 p.m. Sat.-Sun. $116-$262. https://www.thebakedpotato.com

Fallen Fruit The artist collective Fallen Fruit continues Eat LACMA, its yearlong project on food, art, culture and politics, with the Tomato Hootenanny. Pick up a tomato seedling plant (arrive early — they’ll go fast), dance a jig with the old-time string band Triple Chicken Foot and participate in a Mortgage Lifter Tomato Workshop with artists Anne Hars and Stephanie Allespach. We’re not sure what they mean by Mortgage Lifter but we’re willing to believe this is yet another secret benefit of lycopene. LACMA, 5905 Wilshire Blvd., L.A. Noon-3 p.m. (323) 857-6000.
