Update: The Galaxy has been billing its friendly against Boca Juniors as a match against “one of world’s most recognizable clubs.” That it is, but Boca won’t be recognizable during its three-game swing through the U.S. The 23-time Argentine champion will be without midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme, who had surgery on his left knee Wednesday and is out until next season. Nor will new Coach Claudio Borghi’s team include another veteran Argentine international, Martin Palermo. He is with Diego Maradona’s squad preparing for the World Cup. After playing the Galaxy, Boca, which finished 16th in the 20-team Argentine league this season, plays the Seattle Sounders at Qwest Field in Seattle on Wednesday and the Portland Timbers on Saturday.
