Score Harlem Globetrotter tickets with Howard Johnson hotel stays
Basketball great Wilt Chamberlain was a member of the Harlem Globetrotters when the team played to sold-out crowds in Moscow at the height of the Cold War in 1959. As the Globetrotters mark their 85th season this year, you can score two free tickets when you stay at Howard Johnson hotels.
The deal: The Double Dribble package requires a two-night stay — prepaid and nonrefundable — and comes with vouchers for two tickets to see the Globetrotters anywhere they play. The ticket vouchers are mailed after you make the reservation. Use the code “SFA” to reserve online or by phone.
When: Good for stays through April 1 while supplies last. Click here to see a list of Harlem Globetrotters games nationwide through April 17.
Tested: Though I think of HoJo mainly as an East Coast chain, I checked online and found three of its hotels in the San Francisco area and five in the San Diego area. I selected a room at the Howard Johnson Inn San Diego Sea World for a two-night stay starting Nov. 19 and found the package available for a room that cost $100 for Friday night and $80 for Saturday night, plus tax.
