Power plant cooling: An article in the Oct. 4 LATExtra section about state officials’ giving utilities more time to phase out the use of seawater to cool generators said that the so-called once-through method “consumes hundreds of millions of gallons” of seawater each day. Most of that water is eventually returned to the sea.

Zoppe Family Circus: A Hot List item in the Oct. 7 Calendar said that the Zoppe Family Circus would be performing this weekend at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center at 6200 Atherton St., Long Beach. The event is presented by the Carpenter Center but is happening in downtown Long Beach at the northeast corner of Broadway and Long Beach Boulevard.

Lieutenant governor race: An article in the Oct. 7 LATExtra section about the lieutenant governor race described a September trip to Asia by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger as a fundraising trip. It was a trade mission.

Joe Mantell obituary: The obituary of actor Joe Mantell in the Oct. 2 LATExtra section said that his “Chinatown” character “spoke the film’s famous last line: ‘Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown.’ ” It was not the last line of the movie.

Baseball milestones: In the Oct. 7 Sports section, a chart comparing Roy Halladay’s no-hitter for the Philadelphia Phillies against the Cincinnati Reds in Game 1 of the National League Division Series and Don Larsen’s perfect game for the New York Yankees in the 1956 World Series against the Brooklyn Dodgers said Halladay’s no-hitter happened Oct. 7. It was Oct. 6.
