Is Kevin Durant looking to conquer Hollywood?

Share

Now that Kevin Durant has helped the Oklahoma City Thunder defeat the Western Conference’s best, what’s next for the All-Star forward (besides the Heat or Celtics)?

How about a movie?

Durant might not conquer Hollywood with his role in the upcoming film “Thunderstruck” -- a kid’s movie about a high schooler who goes from basketball failure to high-flying phenom after somehow absorbing Durant’s basketball prowess -- but making a movie seems to be a rite of passage for all NBA stars. After all, look at what Space Jam did for Michael Jordan’s career.

Kidding aside, TNT debuted the “Thunderstruck” trailer during Wednesday’s coverage of Game 6 of the Western Conference finals between the Spurs and Thunder . Sparks star Candace Parker has a cameo in the movie as do a lot of former NBA stars, who, oddly enough, work for TNT.

The movie is slated to be released later this summer, and don’t be surprised if Jim Belushi is roaming the sidelines during the NBA Finals.

I just hope it’s a little better than Shaq’s attempt to woo audiences via the silver screen:
