Cardinals’ Patrick Peterson drops $2.69 million on new desert digs
Patrick Peterson, the star defensive back for the Arizona Cardinals, has made an upgrade to his home roster, buying a guard-gated estate in Scottsdale, Ariz., for $2.692 million.
Hedged by tall trees and palms, the Tuscan-inspired contemporary sits on nearly an acre in the Paradise Manor Estates community with a 7,807-square-foot main house, a guest casita, a basketball half-court and a lagoon-style pool and spa.
The single-story floor plan features hardwood and stone flooring, exposed beams, ornate woodwork and recessed ceilings throughout. Grand formal areas, a chef’s kitchen, a library and a wine cellar complete with tasting room are among the amenities.
The master retreat, one of six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, sports an exercise room, a steam room and a private office.
Bridging indoor and outdoor spaces, walls of glass open onto a covered patio with an outdoor kitchen. The detached casita adds a game/media room and another kitchen.
Originally offered for as much as $3.2 million last year, the home was more recently priced at $2.8 million.
Sandra Baldwin of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service. Chuck Fazio of West USA Realty Revelation represented Peterson in the sale, which closed in January.
The purchase comes roughly five months after the cornerback put his 8,300-square-foot home in Gilbert on the market for $1.899 million. Currently listed at $1.5 million, the Tuscan-style estate is highlighted by a 22-foot stone fireplace, home theater and a tiered pool and spa with a water feature.
Peterson, a four-time Pro Bowler, started all 16 games for the Cardinals last season, finishing with three interceptions, including one for a touchdown. The 24-year-old signed a five-year, $70-million contract extension with the Cardinals in July.
