Public libraries and ‘big six’ publishers fight over e-books

The Los Angeles Public Library is among the largest lenders of electronic materials in the world, just ahead of the New York Public Library. At many of the smaller library systems in L.A. County, electronic loans are surging even as physical loans remain steady.

The Times is exploring how people use L.A. County libraries. If you have one or more library cards, we invite you to share your story.
