Shia LaBeouf is embarking on another offbeat art project/stunt -- this time in the city of Amsterdam.

The 28-year-old actor, who in recent months has been more noted for his strange public behavior than his movies, will embark on a project titled “#Metamarathon” on Thursday at the Stedelijk Museum. The event is being billed as a “a collaborative project” by LaBeouf and artists Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner.

Both LaBoeuf and the Stedelijk Museum confirmed the event on their respective Twitter accounts.

The museum hasn’t revealed what “#Metamarathon” will involve except to say on its website that “Shia LaBeouf will embark upon a metamarathon around the perimeter of the Stedelijk Museum. Visitors are invited to participate. Running shoes optional.”

The Stedelijk Museum normally exhibits contemporary art and is currently hosting a show devoted to the acclaimed artist Marlene Dumas.

In February, LaBeouf participated in a live gallery installation in Los Angeles titled “#iamsorry” in which the actor wore a paper bag over his head while sitting at a table. The gallery event was also a collaboration between the actor and Rönkkö and Turner.

LaBeouf was arrested in New York in June for disrupting a performance of the musical “Cabaret.” (He later pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct). Earlier this year, the actor wore a paper bag over his head at the Berlin Film Festival red-carpet arrival for Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac.”

His newest movie is the World War II drama “Fury,” opening Oct. 17, in which he costars alongside Brad Pitt.
