Emmys 2012: ‘Game Change’ wins for miniseries or movie

“Game Change” won the Emmy on Sunday for miniseries or movie.
The HBO political drama, which premiered to an impressive 2.1-million viewers in March, was based on the 2008 presidential campaign — particularly former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s road to becoming a vice presidential nominee.
It faced aggressive opposition from Palin, who is portrayed in the film by Julianne Moore, and her supporters for what they called a “false narrative.”

“Game Change” competed against “American Horror Story” (FX), “Hatfields & McCoys” (History), “Hemingway & Gellhorn” (HBO), “Luther” (BBC America) and “Sherlock: A Scandal in Belgravia” (PBS).
The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards are being handed out at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and the show is being televised live on ABC.
