‘Argo,’ ‘Lincoln,’ Ted’ among ACE Eddie film-editing nominees

American Cinema Editors announced its nominees for the 63rd Annual ACE Eddie Awards Friday morning. The Eddies recognize outstanding editing in nine categories in film, TV and documentaries.

Nominated for best-edited film are William Goldenberg for “Argo,” Tim Squyres for “Life of Pi,” Michael Kahn for “Lincoln,” Stuart Baird for “Skyfall” and Dylan Tichenor for “Zero Dark Thirty.”

Vying for best-edited feature film (comedy or musical) are Chris Gill for “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” Melanie Ann Oliver and Chris Dickens for “Les Miserables,” Andrew Weisblum for “Moonrise Kingdom,” Jay Cassidy and Crispin Struthers for “Silver Linings Playbook” and Jeff Freeman for “Ted.”

Nominees for best-edited animated feature film are Nicolas C. Smith for “Brave,” Chris Lebenzon and Mark Solomon for “Frankenweenie,” Joyce Arrastia for “Rise of the Guardians” and Tim Mertens for “Wreck-It-Ralph.”

Best-edited documentary feature nominees are Ron Fricke and Mark Magidson for “Samsara,” Malik Bendjelloul for “Searching for Sugar Man” and Billy McMillin for “West of Memphis.”

Among the television nominees are “American Masters -- Phil Ochs: There But for Fortune,” “Modern Family,” “Breaking Bad,” “Homeland” and “Mad Men.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony Feb. 16 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. David Cross will be the emcee. The following is a full list of nominees for the 63rd ACE Eddie Awards:
