Golden Globes: Mandy Patinkin celebrates ‘Homeland’ year round

Claire Danes’ patented “cry face” from “Homeland” has become infamous. But it’s unclear whether she has passed it down to her newborn son, Cyrus.

“No, I haven’t seen him cry yet,” Danes’ costar Mandy Patinkin said Sunday on the Golden Globes red carpet. Flanked by Kathryn Grody, his wife of 34 years, the 60-year-old actor was all smiles as he headed into the Beverly Hilton, where he was up for his first Golden Globe award. Not even temperatures in the chilly 50s could faze him.

“You’re a Californian,” he said, looking at a shivering reporter. “We’re from New York. This is heaven.”

Though he said the supporting-actor award nod made him feel like “the luckiest guy on the planet,” Patinkin said he celebrates the success of the show year round.

“We celebrate the show on set. We celebrate at different people’s houses. We celebrate Claire’s new baby. I’m an honorary grandpa,” he explained, beaming.
