Jeremy Renner is a married man, and he pulled it off in a manner worthy of a secret agent.

The extremely private “Mission: Impossible” franchise star flashed a wedding band at a screening of “Kill the Messenger” in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday and confirmed his marriage to Sonni Pacheco to a D.C.-area magazine. Other than that, no other details have gone public.

“I have tried to protect my family’s privacy, my wife’s privacy,” Renner told Capitol File. “I don’t need her to get hammered with my life. Privacy issues are important because I want her to go about her day without being bothered.”

The two-time Oscar nominee, whose breakout role was the lead in 2008’s “The Hurt Locker,” welcomed a daughter with Pacheco, a model, in January 2013. Ava Berlin Renner was 7 pounds on arrival and is now, according to her dad, “into her sticker phase” at 17 months.

Fatherhood is “the best thing I have ever done -- doing it later on in life,” the 43-year-old told the magazine. “By then I achieved a lot of things that I wanted to achieve; I’m so blessed for that. Now I can really spend time with the family.

“The only thing I think about when I’m not with my baby is, ‘How do I get to my baby?’ I need to get to her, and I’m very miserable when I don’t see her.”

He said his perspective has changed since she was born, in the sense that he now works to secure a future for Ava, not just for himself.

And while he might love being a father, his daughter might not completely love it down the line.

As a father,” Renner said, “I’m going to make it very difficult for her to find a man.”
