John Stamos turns 50, ‘Full House’ family reunites to celebrate

Share

John Stamos is 50. Have mercy! Uncle Jesse is getting old.

The actor celebrated his half-century birthday Monday with his “Full House” castmates, who have kept in touch since their sitcom went off the air in 1995.

His on-screen wife Lori Loughlin and TV family posted all the details on Instagram for fan-viewing pleasure too.

“@bobsaget was the perfect emcee last night. Hysterically funny as always!” Loughlin wrote about costar and Tanner family patriarch Bob Saget.

The party took place at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Hollywood, according to People. It was themed after Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin’s Rat Pack, according to Candace Cameron Bure, who played Stamos’ niece DJ in the sitcom.

“Family Forever #johnstamos50 @johnstamos @bobsaget #RatPackTheme,” she wrote, snapping a pic of herself, Stamos and Saget at the fete.

“It was really great catching up with Ashley last night!,” Loughlin wrote, posing for a photo with one of the Olsen twins, who played Michelle Tanner when the show aired from 1987 to 1995.

No word on why embattled alum Jodie Sweetin or costars Dave Coulier or Mary-Kate Olsen weren’t at the event.

Comedian Jeffrey Ross roasted the well-coiffed actor, according to Loughlin. And music? You got it, dude! Stamos had his fair share of performers, including “It’s Not Unusual” legend Tom Jones and Mike Love and Bruce Johnston from the Beach Boys, who have had a long history with Stamos’ “Full House” persona. “Glee’s” Darren Criss also serenaded the star.

“The lovely and extremely talented and semi good looking @DarrenCriss sang to me at my birthday,” Stamos wrote, sharing a pic of the singer belting out a tune as the birthday boy sat in the background making an unimpressed face.

Yeah, Criss has nothing on Stamos’ show band Jesse and the Rippers. Though these days, Stamos has focused on acting. He’s currently starring in USA’s “Necessary Roughness” after completing stints on “The New Normal,” “Glee” and “ER.” He recently made headlines for his philanthropy, promising to go to Disneyland with a fan named Kaitlyn Dobrow, who is a quadruple amputee because of a bacterial infection.

“Had the party of a lifetime Monday night,” Stamos wrote on Instagram. “everyone that is so important in my life was there. Especially my mom and sisters.”

Stamos said he spent his “last few hours of being 49” with his mom and promised that the festivities would be “going all month.”
