Kate Upton takes on Tony Hale in Lady Antebellum’s ‘Bartender’ video

Kate Upton and Tony Hale? Talk about unusual pairings in country music. Oh, yeah, there’s that too.

The Sports Illustrated model and the “Veep” star have teamed up with Lady Antebellum for the band’s latest video, “Bartender.”

“The Other Woman” star and the band teased to the video on Twitter before it premiered Thursday on the “Today” show.

“Had so much fun w/ @ladyantebellum! Hey #bartender! #cominginhot,” Upton wrote, later teasing her video costar. “Ready for round 2 @MrTonyHale?”

“Your boy can sling some drinks y’all!” Hale tweeted.

Upton doesn’t speak in the video and her minimal acting is just that: minimal.

The video, directed by Shane Drake, opens with the model sitting around melancholic, waiting for her girls to take her out. When they all arrive at a bar, they meet Hale, who plays an overzealous bartender. (Think: Buster Bluth as a mixologist.)

Upton and her gang (and the band) take several rounds of shots and drink a multitude of concoctions, much to the bartender’s surprise. While it isn’t exactly a drink-off, Hale, who on occasion wields rosemary and a couple of blowtorches, doles out the drinks in various boxing-style rounds. Lots of them.

Spoiler alert: Upton literally blows him away after drinking every libation offered to her. Because this seems to be the best illustration of an ideal girls’ night out?

Still, the band has deemed the video its “hands-down favorite.”

“I’ve always appreciated music videos that take a little bit of a different approach than what you’d first guess the video would be like,” Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood told People. “I mean, what guy would complain about spending a day with Kate Upton?”

“Tony totally owns the spotlight in this video,” lead vocalist Charles Kelley said. “He is hilarious and is a big part of why I think this is my favorite video we’ve ever done.”

Meanwhile, the busty model celebrated her 22nd birthday with beau Justin Verlander over a few nights this week, E! News reported. The twosome had dinner at at Chicago Cut Steakhouse and then later went to Underground in Chicago.
