Kim Kardashian (finally, sort of) addresses motherhood, baby North

Share

Kim Kardashian is finally back in the public eye, if only in text on the Interwebs.

The reality TV starlet, who went MIA just after giving birth to baby girl North West on June 15, broke her silence Wednesday to thank fans for their support this past month.

In a post titled “Thank You” on her Celebuzz blog, Kanye West’s paparazzi-ready baby mama addressed her hiatus from the rest of the world, explaining that she was in full-fledged mommy mode (except for the part that usually includes posting doting parent pictures on social media, we suppose).

“These past couple of weeks have been filled with the most exciting experiences of my life,” she wrote Wednesday. “I’m enjoying this time to fully embrace motherhood and spend time at home with my family.”

On Sunday, the latest episode of her E! reality series indicated that she would be taking up residence at her mother Kris Jenner’s Calabasas home while her new abode with West is being renovated.

“I’ve been reading all of your messages and want to thank you all for your sweet thoughts and best wishes. It truly means everything to me,” she added. “I am so blessed to have the support of my family and fans in this beautiful moment. Xo”

The curvaceous TV personality welcomed the baby girl about a month before her projected due date because of “medical complications” potentially related to the condition preeclampsia, which is marked by high blood pressure and can include severe swelling, according to several reports.

The avid social media maven returned to Twitter and Instagram with posts devoted to her friends’ birthdays, her E! show, her mom’s new show and the outcome of the George Zimmerman case. But there was nary a tweet about her new bundle of joy or motherhood.

Kardashian, who is usually very forthcoming about her life, has been unusually mum and out of sight since having her baby. It’s unclear if that’s because she wants to lose her baby weight, stay hidden till she potentially appears on her mom’s new show or because she and West want to keep this time truly private.

Over the weekend, reports circulated that the new mom was spotted out and about with North in Los Angeles last week concealed in her nanny/helper’s car.

“Kim looks amazing, she really does,” a source told Radar Online. “She’s dropped a lot of the baby weight already ... not to say she still doesn’t have a ways to go, but she looked slim and was glowing.”

“As for the baby, Kim and her helper kept a blanket over North’s car seat so nobody could catch a glimpse.”

West has been pretty adamant about keeping his child out of the spotlight.

On Monday, Kardashian’s mother debuted her new lifestyle show, “Kris,” and pranked her audience by carrying a swaddled baby out onstage, leading people to believe the world would finally meet her latest grandchild. The baby turned out to be the child of a hair and makeup artist on the set, not little North.

It’s unclear whether the new mom and her baby girl will make their official debut on “Kris.” We wouldn’t put it past them, though, as a way to ramp up ratings for the fledgling show.

Ryan Seacrest, Diddy and Kathie Lee Gifford are among some of the celeb cohosts Jenner is planning to have.
