Lindsay Lohan changes rehab facilities — with permission!

Lindsay Lohan, who’s been nestled away in rehab for more than 30 days now, has reportedly gotten a change of scenery: from Rancho Mirage to Malibu.

The move to Cliffside Malibu was free of the kind of drama that accompanied her landing at the Betty Ford Clinic in early May, according to TMZ, as all parties involved (defense, prosecution, judge) agreed in advance on the switch.

Last time around, a New York rehab center was approved, with a Newport Beach facility as backup, but Lohan switched to Betty Ford at the last minute, without permission — possibly because the New York joint didn’t allow smoking.

That was right about when she dropped New York attorney Mark Heller, who has been representing her in her probation-violation case, and rehired Shawn Chapman Holley. Lohan in March was sentenced in 30 days of community service and 90 days in a “locked down” rehab for violating probation by lying to police about a car accident she’d had on PCH in Santa Monica.

Lohan left Betty Ford because its program is better suited to a 30-day program rather than a 90-day, TMZ said. She reportedly moved facilities on Wednesday.

Michael Lohan, who hasn’t been a fan of his daughter repeating the program at the Ford clinic, told E! News on Thursday that his daughter had swapped facilities because “she wasn’t getting any individual therapy” and it was the “same old thing to her.”
