Top Gear: Hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May return for a new season with back-to-back episodes of the hi-octane series (6 and 7:20 p.m. BBC America).

Explorer: The new episode “How to Build a Beating Heart” follows scientists as they attempt to grow skin, muscle and body parts from a patient’s own cells that could be used to replace damaged body parts (7 p.m. National Geographic).

How I Met Your Mother: Pop music’s Katy Perry guest stars on a new episode of the sitcom (8 p.m. CBS).

Chuck: Casey, Chuck and Sarah (Adam Baldwin, Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski) are dispatched to Morocco to rescue Roan Montgomery (John Larroquette) (8 p.m. NBC).

House: Cuddy’s mother (Candice Bergen) complains of unusual symptoms and is admitted to the hospital (8 p.m. Fox).

The Chicago Code: Acclaimed writer and executive producer Shawn Ryan (“The Shield”) is one of the creative forces behind this new police drama series. Jason Clarke and Jennifer Beals star in the premiere (9 p.m. Fox).

Hawaii Five-0: McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and his team head into the jungle to try to find a missing witness (10 p.m. CBS).
