“In the Trees: Twin Peaks 20th Anniversary Art Exhibition” Twenty years on, “Twin Peaks’” pop culture influence, iconography and catchphrases have proved infinitely more durable than the series itself, the latter being abruptly axed in 1991 after two seasons. As fodder for artwork, the small-town whodunit/supernatural melodrama is rich like a jelly doughnut with a ready backlog of imagery not limited to the iconic Laura Palmer senior class photo, the pie and coffee duo, the aromatic Douglas fir and black and white chessboard tiles. “In the Trees: Twin Peaks 20th Anniversary Art Exhibition” will feature works by series mastermind David Lynch, actors Grace Zabriskie and Richard Beymer (Sarah Palmer and Benjamin Horne, respectively) and others. Clifton’s Brookdale, 648 Broadway, L.A. opening reception, 8 to 11 p.m. Sat. On view 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sun. Free. https://www.twinpeaks20.com.

POP MUSIC

Martha Wainwright Daughter of Loudon and sister to Rufus, Martha Wainwright’s third album took a turn away from original folk tunes to a full-length tribute album to legendary French singer Edith Piaf. For two nights, the saucily voiced Wainwright re-creates the album live for an intimate Largo audience. Largo at the Coronet. 366 N. La Cienega Blvd., L.A. 8 p.m. $30. (310) 855-0350. https://www.largo-la.com.

Hellride Punk pioneer and MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer rounds out a trio of grizzled rock vets as they reinterpret the music of the Stooges for this one-night-only Hellride concert. He plays with former Minutemen bassist and L.A. hard-core gadabout Mike Watt and Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins. Central Social Aid and Pleasure Club, 1348 14th St., Santa Monica. 8 p.m. $12. https://www.centralsapc.com/.

MOVIES

Romancing the Screen Celebrate Valentine’s weekend with a four-night tribute to the silver screen’s most romantic films at American Cinematheque’s Romancing the Screen. With the tear-jerker “The Notebook,” the May-December love of “Harold and Maude” and the grand, old-fashioned romances of “Casablanca” and “Gone With the Wind” — even the dark and twisted obsession of “Double Indemnity” — there’s something to make almost every heart beat a little faster. The Aero Theatre, 14th St. and Montana Ave., Santa Monica, and the Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood. 7:30 p.m. Sat.-Mon. $11. See website for individual titles and show times. (323) 466-3456. https://www.americancinematheque.com
