History Detectives: Two anniversaries — 150 years since the Civil War began and 70 since Pearl Harbor — figure prominently in the season premiere (8 p.m. KOCE).

101 Ways to Leave a Game Show: In this new series, players who answer questions incorrectly leave the show by being strapped to the wing of a plane, dropped off the side of an 18-wheeler, flipped upside down in an exploding car or launched by dynamite (9 p.m. ABC).

Hardcore Pawn: Returning tonight for a new season, this unscripted series takes viewers to Detroit, where Les Gold and his family operate American Jewelry and Loan, a self-described “working man’s bank.” (9 p.m. Tru).

POV: A new season of the documentary showcase opens with “Kings of Pastry,” that follows several top chefs hoping to win the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (Best Craftsmen of France) prize for pastry making (10 p.m. KOCE).

Gene Simmons Family Jewels: In the season premiere, Shannon was thinking about separating from Gene. It turns out she was serious and Gene is stunned when she moves out and he is forced to fend for himself (10 p.m. A&E). A second new episode follows at 10:30.

16 and Pregnant: In the season finale a teenager must choose between raising her baby in an unstable environment or without a father (10 p.m. MTV).

2011 Wimbledon Championships: Early round (Noon and 4 a.m. ESPN2).

Baseball: The Angels visit the Florida Marlins (4 p.m. FSN); the Chicago Cubs visit the Chicago White Sox (5 p.m. WGN A); the Detroit Tigers visit the Dodgers (7 p.m. KCAL).

Women’s basketball: The New York Liberty visit the Sparks (7 p.m. ESPN2).
