Kristin Chenoweth off ‘The Good Wife,’ needs more recovery time
Kristin Chenoweth is going to need more time to recuperate before she can return to “The Good Wife,” the actress announced Monday, signaling the end of an anticipated multiple-show arc in which she was cast as a political reporter.
“It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to ‘The Good Wife’ at this time,” Chenoweth told People in a statement. "[I’m] getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern.”
While filming the season premiere of “The Good Wife” on July 11, the singer and actress was injured on the set when a gust of wind caused her to be struck by a piece of lighting equipment.
She reportedly hit her head on the ground when she fell, a source told TMZ, which had pictures of Chenoweth in a neck brace and strapped to a gurney, being loaded into an ambulance.
The avid Twitter user went silent online from that day until July 24, when she returned with a few messages, including two that said, in part, “Sounds dramatic: but im thankful to be here. I love this life! And am grateful! ... I miss the crew and cast of The Good Wife. Love u guys. Xoxo.”
Chenoweth was to have appeared in several episodes of the Julianna Margulies drama this season as a political reporter eager to dig into the business of the Florrick marriage and campaign, but that has been cut to an appearance in the premiere only, People reported.
On Monday, responding to another Twitter user, Chenoweth declared, “I love The Good Wife and will be back when i can. :)”
