Kristin Chenoweth was injured by a piece of equipment while working on “The Good Wife” Wednesday in New York and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The tiny vocal powerhouse was hit on the head by scaffolding and transported by ambulance, the actress’ rep confirmed to the Associated Press.

A production source told TMZ Chenoweth was struck by a piece of lighting equipment that was felled by a gust of wind, and then she hit her head on the concrete when she fell. Pictures posted on the site show the actress strapped to a backboard and wearing a neck brace as she was being loaded into an ambulance.

She appeared to be “knocked out cold,” a witness told TMZ. A New York Fire Department official told AP that she was being treated for “minor injuries.” Chenoweth’s rep did not respond immediately to a Ministry inquiry regarding the actress’s condition.

Windblown lighting equipment aside, Chenoweth was diagnosed about five years ago with Meniere’s disease, which she said can cause vertigo and affect her balance.

Chenoweth is set to debut in a recurring role on the season premiere of the Julianna Margulies-starring CBS drama, according to Broadway World, playing a political reporter eager to dig into the business of the Florrick marriage and campaign.
