Angus T. Jones bashes ‘Two and a Half Men,’ calls it ‘filth’

Angus T. Jones doesn’t much like “Two and a Half Men,” and he wishes viewers wouldn’t watch the show.

So said the 19-year-old TV star in Christian testimony shot principally in his production trailer and posted Monday by the Forerunner Christian Church on YouTube.

“Jake from ‘Two and a Half Men’ means nothing. He is a nonexistent character ... ,” Jones said, starting about halfway through the video above. “If you watch ‘Two and a Half Men,’ please stop watching ‘Two and a Half Men.’ I’m on ‘Two and a Half Men,’ and I don’t want to be on it.

“Please stop watching it; stop filling your head with filth. Please. People say it’s just entertainment. ... Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, and especially with what you watch.”

Now, Charlie Sheen had some issues with “moral turpitude” surrounding “Men,” but that was a whole ‘nother story.

Jones and the other principals in the “Two and a Half” cast — Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer — reportedly signed one-year contracts when the show was renewed for its 10th and possibly final season back in May, so the youngest of the “Men” could be off the hook shortly.

“A lot of people don’t like to think about how deceptive the enemy is. He’s been doing this for a lot longer than any of us have been around ... ,” Jones said, presumably referring to Satan. “There’s no playing around when it comes to eternity.”

Jones has been on “Men” for what seems like an eternity in TV time: coming up on 10 of his 19 years. In the first part of his testimony, he admits to using weed starting in his junior year in high school (a cousin turned him on to it, he said) and dropping acid in his senior year, around the time he bought a cool car and got some speeding tickets. In separate testimony given in October, he noted that he never drank and is still a virgin.

“I was just kind of on a downward trend, living for myself, really not concerning myself with family, anything outside of what was helping me out,” he said in his most recent testimony. Even some charitable work he did at the time — “throwing money” at problems — didn’t feel right, he said. (Jones reportedly makes in the $350K range per episode.)

He discussed accepting God and trying to live a different way starting around the beginning of this year, before he re-upped with “Men.”

“You cannot be a true, God-fearing person and be on a television show like that,” he said. “I know I can’t. I’m not OK with what I’m learning, what the Bible says and being on that television show.”
