Jonas Brothers reunite for new album, New York City show
Being “Married to Jonas” must be more exciting when there’s new music involved. The three Jonas Brothers, known for their inescapable tween-friendly pop-rock in the aughts, have reunited for a forthcoming new album, according to Billboard.
Clips from their recent studio work can be heard in the debut season of the reality show “Married to Jonas,” which premiered on the E! network Sunday. The show largely focuses on the eldest Jonas, Kevin, and his wife, Danielle, but features the bandmates and larger family in the cast.
The first episode is available for download on iTues and shows some unexpected cracks in the apple-cheeked familial formula, such as the brothers clashing in the studio.
At least one new song title, “Meet You in Paris,” can be seen in lyrics on a computer screen within the show, and in the episode, Kevin comments, “This is a very important album for us -- we’re no longer like those teenage Jonas Brothers.”
The Jonases haven’t released a full length since 2009’s “Lines, Vines & Trying Times.” No title or release date has been set for the pending record, but the trio does have a one-off show at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on Oct. 11.
The teen music market has changed a lot in their absence, and though the brothers have made overtures at courting older crowds with more grown-up arrangements and lyrical themes, the onslaught of Biebers and Jepsens has supplanted them in the national pop sphere. Even the first-week sales of “Lines” at 247,000 were less than half of 2008’s “A Little Bit Longer” at 525,000.
