Beyonce teases April 23 ‘Lemonade’ premiere on HBO

Beyonce seems to delight in keeping her fans guessing, and she’s doing it again with word of a new project titled “Lemonade” (or which, at least, appears to bear that name) that will premiere April 23 on HBO.

A 20-second clip that surfaced Saturday shows Bey (or at least, a woman who appears to be her), wearing blond corn-rows and a fur jacket, leaning against what appears to be the hood of a vehicle as a metallic sound swells.

The words “What am I gonna do?” can be heard faintly echoing after the screen switches to black, the word “Lemonade” appears followed by an announcement of “A World Premiere Event” and the date and time (6 p.m. PDT, 9 Eastern) of the program.

Beyonce had recently tweeted images of herself with a lemon, and Bey watchers quickly began speculating that “Lemonade” may be a film to accompany the release of her anticipated new album, possibly surfacing later this month.

The one thing we know with some degree of certainty is that she is scheduled to launch her Formation World Tour on April 27 in Miami.

The “Lemonade” spot quickly took over the Twitterverse, generating more than 85,000 tweets within the first few hours of the clip going public.
