CBS has canceled two veteran series, “CSI: New York” and “Rules of Engagement,” while also axing the freshman series “Vegas” and “Golden Boy.”

“CSI: New York,” which starred Gary Sinese and Sela Ward, was the sole remaining spinoff of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” which is still going strong on the network. The drama premiered in 2004.

“Rules of Engagement,” a relationship comedy that starred David Spade and Patrick Warburton, premiered in 2007.

“Vegas,” which starred Dennis Quaid as a rancher/lawman butting heads with a ruthless Chicago gangster played by Michael Chiklis in 1960s Las Vegas. It premiered last fall but never drew a large audience.

“Golden Boy,” about a cop who became the youngest police commissioner in the history of New York City, premiered at midseason. The series starred Theo James and Chi McBride.
