Gisele Bundchen stars in a new film/ad campaign for Chanel No. 5 that launches online Wednesday. The film was shot by Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann (“The Great Gatsby,” “Moulin Rouge,” etc.). On Monday night, Bundchen; Luhrmann; his wife, costume and set designer Catherine Martin; Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld and a plethora of guests gathered in New York City to toast the endeavor. Just as a little side note, I love the nail look Lily Allen wore to the party. Glittering silver and black looks glamorous and is also kind of right for October, with Halloween coming up.

Lupita Nyong’o was named People magazine’s most beautiful person of 2014, so it’s somewhat reassuring to know that as a teen she hid out in the school bathroom during recess when she had bad hair days, as she told Redbook in an interview. The retail creep into Thanksgiving -- and I use the word “creep” advisedly -- looks like it will be worse than ever this year.
