John Varvatos taps Ziggy and Stephen Marley for spring ad campaign

Share

It’ll be reggae meets runway in the John Varvatos spring 2015 advertising campaign which will feature Ziggy Marley and his brother Stephen Marley the VF Corp.-owned luxury menswear label announced Tuesday.

The black and white Danny Clinch photos show Ziggy Marley (at right in the above image from the campaign) kitted out in a black crocodile jacquard two-button peak lapel Jake tuxedo and black linen henley shirt accessorized with a scarf. Stephen Marley sports a black, one-button peak lapel Austin tuxedo and a gray, button-front spread-collar dress shirt accesorized with a black silk tie.

The Varvatos label has a long track record of tapping high-profile musicians to serve as the face of its seasonal ad campaigns, most recently featuring Ringo Starr (the pitch-Beatle for the fall and winter 2014 collection), Kiss (for spring and summer 2014) and country singer Willie Nelson and sons Lukas and Micah (for fall 2013).

The offspring of reggae legend Bob Marley, the brothers are accomplished musicians in their own right with an impressive 14 Grammys between them; Stephen has eight to his credit, Ziggy has six, though the latter may shortly be adding to his total since he’s been nominated for a 2014 Grammy (for best reggae album), set to be handed out later this month.

We bet we know what designer he’ll be wearing to the ceremony.
